Men’s Weight Loss Programme
Posted by Wellbeing People on 9 February, 2017
Wellbeing People are proud to be part of the free men’s fitness programme, Match Fit..
Mike Cogger, Maidstone United FC, Julie Patching-Ellis, trainer, Helen Critcher, Golding Homes and Josh Stroud, Wellbeing People all braved the icy cold weather to meet with a reporter from the Kent Messenger on 5th January. The four organisations have come together to create a programme that specifically targets men to help with a healthier lifestyle and weight loss.
Match Fit is a series of 10 weekly hour long sessions
Run by Julie Patching-Ellis and Josh Stroud at The Gallagher Stadium in Maidstone on Thursday evenings – a great venue that is not only central in the town but also a friendly environment and home to Maidstone United Football Club; tying in well with the name of the programme! Match Fit is aimed at men over 18 years of age with a BMI of 28 or more.
Fitness trainer, Julie, works with the men to build a level and intensity of exercise that is comfortable for them. Josh then gives advice and support on living a healthier lifestyle and how they can make changes at home and during their working day.
Josh Stroud of Wellbeing People explains that the men who attend have already decided they want to make a change to their lifestyle which means they are really motivated and enjoy the setting. The programme is free which is a great incentive for men to sign up – just an hour of their time on a weekday evening is required!
